Pic Playback: The Leading Women of Gospel Music Blessed The MGM National Harbor

Although we can stand in worship of God on any day, there’s something almost extra special about doing so on a Sunday. This past Sunday, May 7 The Theater at MGM National Harbor was transformed from an ordinary concert hall, to a Jesus party when 4 of the top leading ladies in Gospel and Christian Music joined forces for a must-see worship experience.

GRAMMY-winning artists Naomi Raine and Tasha Cobbs Leonard, 9x GRAMMY-nominee Natalie Grant and globally renowned vocalist TAYA brought the “It’s Time” Tour to the DMV for a night to remember. What makes this tour so special is that this is the first time EVER that an all-female lead worship tour has ever been mounted!

To show just how unified these women were, the conscious decision was made to begin the concert with all four women present on stage, mimicking that of a praise and worship team singing “Cry Out” before breaking of into their own solo sets.

Taya was first to be given to opportunity to share her gift of music as she took us to the water with “Oceans“, provided an escape via “Getaway” and proclaimed that he’s “Worthy Of It All.” Natalie gave up all the glory during her performances of “Clean,” “The Goodness of God,” and “Your Great Name.”

By now, most people can see that Naomi is the “current” voice of Christian based music, and her renditions of “Story I’ll Tell” and “Jireh” further cemented her anointing. Tasha burned the house down when her soulful growl hit just right during “For Your Glory,” “Burden Down,” and “Fill My Cup Lord.”

The Spirit was fully present and moving all throughout the entire crowd at the end when some of the biggest gospel hits took on new life. Taking place of a typical benediction at church, the collective group of women came together to perform Maverick City’s hit “Promises” and Cobb’s “Break Every Chain.”

Everyone should have left that building feeling either inspired or blessed, because what those women did was just short of the Lord’s work itself. Granted this is the first tour of its kind, there’s absolutely no reason why it should be the last.
