Pic Playback: Fantasia brings in the holiday cheer at the MGM National Harbor
Right on time for the holiday season, one of the most soulful sistas out in music graced her presence upon the MGM National Harbor for a one-night-only experience.
Dripped in a black velvet catsuit that screams CHRISTMAS TIME, Fantasia was the gift that kept on giving, especially for her die-hard fans who had received tickets as their holiday treat.
With Tasia Mae being firmly cemented in her career and the industry, it was refreshing to see her open up her show with songs from some of her earliest efforts. “It’s All Good” has always been one of my favorite songs from her due to the thumping bass line and just the overall feel-good nature of the track. Throughout her entire set, she took you on a trip down memory lane through her back catalog of music which is almost twenty years old.
Although Fantasia is a SINGER’S singer, she’s never one just to stand in one place while putting on a show…ooh no, she’s bound to cut up, so when you see her kick off her shoes and her bottom lip starts quivering, you know she means business. Watching her perform “Free Yourself,” “Lose To Win,” “Truth Is,” & “Bittersweet” with the type of fervor that only she can conjure up was something like a spiritual experience to help usher Baby Jesus right on in for his birthday.
