Pic Playback: Elle Varner Holds The D.C. City Winery Hostage For A Night Of Vocal Bliss

Can we get a refill, or two, or three?
One of music’s most under the radar talents brought her magic back to the Washington, DC area. Elle Varner has that natural gifted vocal ability that creates the resonating blissful aura music lovers can’t always explain but are always captivated by. With Elle leading the melody over wonderfully aligned chord progressions, an intriguing element was created and mentally reached an intellect that synced The City Winery’s crowd’s vibe and sway.
What the general public sometimes fails to realize is that she’s the total package: she’s beautiful, has vocal range for days, is a dope songwriter, AND she plays instruments as well! But wait a minute though, did you know that she raps too? As DJ Aktive dropped the beat to her song “EV“, she effortlessly spit the lyrics of the song atop the instrumental track to Jay-z’s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)”
With a flawless, very interactive stage presence, she sashayed back and forth, making sure to captivate each fan’s full attention. It’s always refreshing to see an artist fully comfortable on stage, where they can peel back the layers of “stardom” and treat us like family. The fam knew pretty much every word to all the songs that she belted out, such as “Refill“, “I Don’t Care“, “Damn good friends” and “Leaf“. Even though the classic joints are still in constant rotation for many, she wanted to let you know that new music is on the way, and performed two new songs “S.E.L.F” and “Lucky“, from the upcoming album “S.E.L.F.”
Concerts like this are totally a treat in every fashion, so treat yourself to a ticket if she comes to a city near you.
