The Broccoli City Fest Makes Its Return In 2022

We back!

One of the DMV’s most prominent festivals geared towards “the culture” is making its return for the 2022 festival season.

Broccoli City Festival is set to go down the weekend of May 7 – 8 at its home on the historic RFK Festival Grounds smack dab in the middle of Washington, DC. It’s hard to believe that they are celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year, as we clearly remember when the first annual event happened, but the organizers are set to make this occasion in a huge way. For the first time in BCF history, the event will take place the entire weekend as opposed to packing all this greatness into one day.

From look of the bill, they’ve grabbed some of the top notch talent from the music scene today to headline, with 21 Savage, Ari Lennox, Lil Durk, Rico Nasty, Summer Walker, Gunna, Don Oliver and more to blaze the stage. While Wale is also slated to perform, there’s been a bit of speculation about if he’s actually going to be in attendance or not.

Like in the previous years, the festival isn’t just about music. The timing will coincide with the launch of BLK (Black) Change Weekend. Inspired by the documentary Wattstax, BLK Change Weekend was created to mobilize young people, companies, and community organizations to work collaboratively to create a more racially equitable world for Black millennials and Gen Z’ers.

There will be a BroccoliCon and Career Expo taking place that Thursday before, May 6, in person and online. To get the festival attendees blood pumping that Saturday morning, there will be the annual Broccoli City Fit Fest.

Tickets are now on sale, with general admission starting at $149 for both days of the music events. What’s even more clutch is that these tickets can be put on layaway for $20.

VIP admission starts at $449.50 for two days and includes access to enter the VIP lounge area where you’ll have a special mainstage viewing area, along with a couple other special perks.
