“Let’s toast it up..” Monday night in the DMV was filled with the sweet sounds of Ne-Yo. Opening the show with a performance of ‘Champagne Life’ from his endless list of hits, the crooner was determined to set the stage ablaze early.
Although the energy of the show was incredible and he covered every inch of the stage while performing. There was still a noticeable absence of dancers. Those who have seen the star perform in the past were quite surprised at the change, they were very much used to seeing a realm of dancers assist Ne-Yo during hits like ‘Closer’ or ‘Stay’. Being that it was my first time experiencing the artist live I was able to take the show for what it was, incredible. This gentleman bust in to splits and danced his way around the stage all while singing live and wearing a suit.
This show was his second to last stop on this tour but don’t fret if you were not able to catch him out on the road. He plans to release his new album early in 2015 and I am sure that a a tour will follow soon after. If you are in the Chicago area, make sure to catch the last stop November 2nd at the House of Blues. For everyone else, a sneek peak of the show is below.
