Pic Playback: Little Simz “No Thank You” Tour Live at The Fillmore in Silver Spring

One of the freshest things to come out of London Town in recent years is independent rapper Little Simz, just brought her “No Thank You” Tour to the Fillmore Silver Spring for a packed out concert. This was her first tour North American tour since 2019, and the 11 city trek certainly didn’t disappoint.

Before she got a chance to take the stage, Osiris The God was the special guest selected to help warm up the crowd and not only check the vibes, but get the vibes going. While fans were absolutely digging his music, you could feel the anticipation that was in the air building from the headliner of the night.

A simulated choir played on the LED screen above the stage with the words “Find your way. Find your faith. God’s with you always” blasting out loud on the PA system as Little Simz walked out to stand front and center for the first song of the night “Silhouette.” Decked out in a black and white baggy outfit that would recall the swag of mid 90’s hip-hop, this new age femcee invoked the essence of a 90’s rap show. Stage presence ✔ prodigious lyrical content and delivery ✔✔ and great music that the entire crowd was able to feel down to the core of their souls ✔✔✔

The setlist consisted of tracks songs from her entire catalog, but more focused on “Sometimes I Might Be Introvert” and “No Thank You.” “Broken,” “Angel,” “Woman,” “No Merci,” and “Introvert” were just a few that she touched upon, but it was the transition from “Might bang, Might not” to “101 FM” that caught our attention the most and let us know how sonically aware she is.

As she’s steadily on the incline to become a legend in her own right, we would say check her out when she comes to town.
