In August 1969, over half a million people came to upstate New York for the 3 days of Peace & Music. The Woodstock Music & Arts Fair. Some of our readers weren’t even born yet, but we’re sure that your parents remember this historic event.
50 years later, it’s time to relive that magic with the announcement of Woodstock 50. Taking place on the weekend of August 16th – 18th in Watkins Glen in upstate New York, Jay-Z, Dead & Company, The Black Keys, Chance the Rapper, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons and Halsey are among the headliners announced for the festival, producer Michael Lang confirmed at a press conference.
Among other performers, you’ll have the chance to check out Janelle Monae, Common, Earl Sweatshirt, Santana, Leon Bridges and more.
The festival will feature four distinct stages — The Peace Stage, The Love Stage, The Music Stage, and The Garden Stage — each of which will host a variety of like-minded acts before giving away to a headlining artist.
Tickets for Woodstock 50 will go on sale April 22nd. Complete information is available on the festival’s website.
