The 2019 Roots Picnic Announces It’s Moving To A New Home

So long, farewell to Penns Landing, it’s been a great 11 years, but it’s time for bigger and better things!

The 2019 Roots Picnic has plotted it’s return to Philly, but at a new location. Set to take place on June 1st, in an announcement made just this morning, the festival will now take place at The Mann Center at Fairmount Park.

This year’s lineup is something pretty notable, as it’s dominated by newer artists. The Roots will headline as always, and this time they’ll perform their classic album Things Fall Apart in full for its 20th anniversary. Along with The Roots Crew, we’ll see H.E.R, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Davido, Raphael Saadiq, Queen Naija, City Girls, Tank & The Bangas, Blueface, Ari Lenox, Tobe Nwigwe, Moonchild, Black Thought & J.Period, Yasiin Bey, DJ Aktive and more.

Something different that they are implementing this year, is a separate podcast stage live from the event, featuring a few popping podcasters such as Joe Budden, QuestLove Supreme, and The Read;

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15th at 12 noon.
