Wednesday, January 10th was a #WayBackWednesday moment for the books as Murder Inc’s kingpin Ja Rule came through to the Baltimore Soundstage for a one night only concert.
It was certainly a hit filled night when fans of 2000’s hip hop came through in droves and sold out the local music venue and were treated to such songs as “Put It On Me“, “Always On Time“, “Clap Back” and more.
Granted all of those songs put everyone in a reminiscent mode, it wasn’t until he dropped the beats for some of biggest tracks, you know those ones assisted by a certain Puerto Rican beauty by the name of J.Lo, which garnered the biggest crowd response. While performing the remixes to “Ain’t It Funny” and “I’m Real“, I almost immediately felt like I was transported back to the summer of 2001 when the song first dropped by the way that everyone sang in unison.
Mr. RuleYorkCity wrapped up his concert rather early, as we were exiting the venue around 10:15 PM, but not before he dropped some new new on us. He performed a song that he and his faithful partner in crime Ashanti recently recorded entitled “Encore“, which is very much a nod to their string of duets that they had together during the early 2000’s.
Take a glimpse at some of the dope pics that our photographer Arturo Holmes caught of Ja Rule below.
