Captivating: Tank & Leela James Delivers Soulful Performances Live In DC At The Warner Theatre

Powerfully making its presence, Soul music embedded an unmatched seductive ambiance, as addictive melodies spread throughout the Warner Theatre. Captivating the hearts of the fully packed music loving crowd, Leela James and Tank mesmerized in a true, authentic, no auto tune way!…. and they did so on hump day Wednesday for their “Savage X The Soul Tour” stop in Washington, DC.

Expressing pure honor of talent from within, the uniqueness of Leela James voice, style and grace was motivating as excitement kicked in. There is just something about a live musical performance that is heavily therapeutic and soothing. It’s as if the bass drum forces all tension to go away, while the instrumentation massages your deepest thoughts, and vocal melodies bring blissful clarity to your soul, all simultaneously.

When you have an artist like Leela James in front of you, she will sing you out of any state of conflict. She will soothe your soul. With a voice and tone quality reminiscent of greats such as : Tina Turner, James Brown and Nina Simone, you couldn’t excape the amount of soul oozing out of every note she delivered on the Warner Theatre Stage. As she went through her set list, the build up was real. Song after song the audience stood to their feet and jammed. Ms. James also has a stellar stage presence. She even engaged the crowd constantly and got right down in the audience to jam with them as well. Gotta love an artist who performs like it’s their first time every time. As she neared the ending of her wonderful set, she hit the music lovers with some of their favorites such as: “Falling”, “I Don’t Want You Back”, and “Set Me Free”. She left a significant impression and heated things up just right as she slayed gracefully.

As the crowd set in awe, calming from Leela James greatness, the stage lighting set an alluring vibe, immediately putting many of the women in a confidently expressed sensual mood. As they couldn’t bear a second more of patience, they began screaming as soon as the first note reached the speakers. Tank came out with this grin that seemed to imply that he was thinking: “Ohhh Yeahhh, I’m about to put it on em and make musical love to all who’ll let me in”… I meannnn, Tank just seems to have the sex appeal that makes women go crazy. So when you factor in his vocals and what he can do with them, he more than likely can and has already sannnggg some women out of their panties!

He began with all his clothing on and little by little began taking one thing off. By the time he got to that special part when he takes his shirt off and exposes his glistening muscular upper body, the women practically rushed the stage. Then, as he began interacting with the audience more, he teased the women by acting as if he was about to take IT ALL OFF!!!. He stopped and said: “Don’t think yall about to get that for free. Yall gotta pay me!” That’s when things got raw. One woman, then another and then another and another, came up to the stage holding out their credit cards. He was surprised by that and asked what card it was. A couple of them replied saying: “Credit Union”. Again surprised, Tank said: “Ohhhh they serious!” Walking away he jokingly said if you serious you gotta show something too, he turned to look back and one of the ladies had pulled out one of their breasts. He again was shocked because he really didn’t think anyone would.

After he set the place on musical fire, he told tech to turn all the house and stage lights on. He sat down at the piano and finished out his set with the song that everyone absolutely loves “I Deserve”. Now you know, when you come to a Tank show, you will definitely leave with an unforgettable seducing vibe and experience. You’ll want the guy you are with or want to be with, to bring that level of confidence and sex appeal to the table. He was seriously a music SAVAGE at the Warner Theatre tour stop. He vocally was incredible and his performance was EVERYTHING, as it always is!

To get a dose of Leela James and Tank in the same setting was awesome. It ain’t nothing like seeing them live. If you haven’t already, you have to catch them on tour in a city near you. While you get your tickets also get your copies of their banging albums so you can sing along to every song while you let loose and jam in the audience.
