Pic Playback: This Was No False Alarm, The Weeknd Takes On Washington, DC

Friday night, September 15th saw the return of The Weeknd to the Washington, DC area for his “Starboy: Legend Of The Fall” Tour. As a matter of fact, this was his second leg of his current international tour. Earlier in the year, he kicked off the tour, which saw it’s first sold out night at the Capital One Arena.

The show, which featured Nav and Gucci Mane, brought it’s intergalactic feels to yet another packed house which had the fans of the Canadian star standing on their feet for the duration of the 3 hour event. Granted The Weeknd was the main star of the show, we couldn’t help take our eyes off of his inanimate co-star, a spaceship that was reminiscent of the Imperial Star Destroyer. This shape shifting element that hovered atop the star gave the Starboy tour the extra pop that we were looking for.

I got so wrapped up in his staging that I almost forgot that this brother has hits, and possibly some longevity to his career beyond the standard radio fare such as “Earned It,” “Wicked Games”, “Can’t Feel My Face”, and his most recent smash “Starboy”. With his combination of songs and an actual audible voice, we know that the stars will continue to be the limit for him, hence he IS the starboy.
