A Mary J. Blige show will send you through a series of welcomed emotions.
Starting the show off with her Kanye West assisted single, “Free Yourself“, the crowd immediately sprung to their feet as Mary made her way to the stage. I love the sound of a live band accompanying an artist on stage. It is something that not enough artist invest in to enhance their stage show. Luckily, Mary puts one hundred and ten percent into the performances that she brings her fans. Background vocals executed flawlessly by Elizabeth, Ashley, and Sharon with Sean, Robert, Monte, Marcus, and Rex rounding up the band. You all are truly amazing at what you do.
She performed all of the hits that her fans know and love. “Enough Cryin“, “No More Drama” and the crowd erupted when they heard the intro to “I’m Going Down“. She didn’t need to sing one word to any of the songs if she didn’t want to.
I don’t know one person who doesn’t run to the store as soon as a new Mary album comes out, they never disappoint, and Strength of A Woman is no exception. “Set Me Free” is one of those songs that will mentally send you back to that bad relationship from three years ago and have you feeling some type of way. I don’t know why you have to come out of pocket either, Mary.
Make sure that you go get a copy of Strength of A Woman at all music retailers in store and online. Also, head to Live Nation to get tickets to a show near you. You WON’T regret it!
